This is such a nice surprise to wake up to! Thank you so much to Husband & Husband (check out their blog, seriously) for the nomination. I really appreciate it!
How STRXWBXRRY (The Diary of a Part-time Psychopath) Got Started
I started off as a blogger on Blogspot. My blog was quite popular, I used to do product/service reviews and run ads and sponsored posts. It was just another way for me to make money. However, a couple of years ago I wrote something negative about a politician and I got bashed, insulted, and threatened because of it (that’s why there’s a death threat option on my Contact page).
I got mildly irritated by this, decided that it was too troublesome, and deleted that blog and moved here to WordPress! Now my posts are more random and personal, and I don’t run ads or do sponsored posts anymore to lessen the pressure on myself. It has definitely made blogging more enjoyable! 😀
Some advice to new bloggers:
– Write whatever you want, whenever you want. It’s your blog, you have complete control over it! 😛
— Don’t be obsessed with stats. If you start worrying about other people getting more comments and blog views, you’re just going to feel discouraged. It’s not a popularity contest, so allow yourself to relax. 🙂
» Select 15 other blogs you want to give the award to. Do some digging if you must! Find those blogs. You cannot nominate yourself or the person who has nominated you.
» Write a post to show off your award! Give a brief story of how your blog got started, and give a piece or two of advice to new bloggers. Thank whoever nominated you, and provide a link to their blog. List who you’ve nominated in the post. Make sure to also attach the award itself! (You can do this by right-clicking, saving, and uploading the image above).
» Comment on each blog and let them know you’ve nominated them. Provide a link to the award post you created.
» Provide a link to the original post on Edge of Night. That way, anyone can find the original guidelines and post if needed, and we can keep it from mutating and becoming confusing!
So, there we have it! Thanks again to Aaron and Jonathan for the nomination.
Thanks for reading, and have a good day!
