Jen’s Top 6 Pokemon Troll Sets

Hello! Do you guys play Pokemon?  If you love Pokemon, you’re in luck – my post today is all about my favourite movesets!

Avid Pokemon battlers will know most, if not all, of these, but for the sake of people who are just getting into the game, here are some viable move sets if you want to troll online.  We all know that there are some trainers who battle a little too intensely, and playing with their teams and screwing up their sets is a nice way to tell them to loosen up a bit. Plus, it’s fun!

Oh, and to let you know – I’m only using cute Pokemon for this post.  Also a disclaimer: none the pictures and none of these sets are originally mine! They were borrowed from various forums and message boards online.

Now that we have the formalities aside, let’s begin!

So let’s start off with…

Pachirisu @ Leftovers

Ability: Volt Absorb

EVs: maxed HP/split Special Defense and Defense

Impish Nature

– Nuzzle

– Super Fang

– Ion Deluge

– Follow Me

Note: thanks to Park Se Jun for making a bulky Pachirisu viable!  This little guy has a slightly different move-set though, since I prefer Ion Deluge over Protect or Light Screen/Reflect. Since Mega Kanghaskhan is so common in the online battling community, Ion Deluge converts its normal-type attacks into Electric-type attacks, which helps our adorable little squirrel regain HP.

Slurpuff @ Sitrus Berry

Ability: Unburden

EVs: maxed Attack/ 200 Speed/ 56 HP

– Belly Drum

– Play Rough

– Drain Punch

– Substitute/Draining Kiss

Note: Gimmicky but worth it if you can set up Belly Drum. Its Hidden Ability, Unburden, works by making Slurpuff faster once it consumes its held item.  Plus Atk + plus Speed makes this puffball a monster, and you can Drain Punch or Play Rough your way through your opponent’s team.

Togekiss @ King’s Rock

Ability: Serene Grace

EVs: maxed HP/ maxed out Special Defense

Calm Nature

– Air Slash

– Aura Sphere

– Thunder Wave

– Dazzling Gleam

Note: paraflinch, anyone? Why use Jirachi when you can use this? Jirachi used to be the God of Paraflinch, but with the steel-typing nerf in the later generations,  Togekiss’s added Fairy typing makes it more viable.

Jumpluff @ Leftovers

Ability: Chlorophyll

EVs: 252 Spd / 100 HP / 78 Def / 78 SDef

Timid Nature

– Substitute

– Leech Seed

– Encore

– Protect

Note: works best on a weather-based team, because in harsh sunlight Jumpluff is a boss Annoy and stall your opponent’s team while looking utterly adorable! Can also work with Whimsicott, but Jumpluff works best with weather conditions.

Klefki @ Shell Bell

Ability: Prankster

EVs: 252 HP/ 128 Defense/ 128 Special Defense

Impish Nature

– Foul Play

– Toxic

– Spikes

– Thunder Wave

Note: Next to Carbink, Trollkey is my favourite opening Pokemon!  It can set up Spikes, then poison or paralyze the opponent’s Pokemon thanks to its Prankster ability, which ensures that status moves always go first. Foul Play works well on high attack-powered Pokemon.

And last but not the least:

Spinda @ Focus Sash

Ability: Contrary

EVs: 252 HP / 252 Attack

Brave Nature

– Trick Room

– Drain Punch

– Superpower

– Teeter Dance

Note: my favourite, favourite set ever!  Spinda is so cute and so adorably awkward that I can’t NOT use him. Common Spinda usage entails Skill-Swapping his Contrary ability with Pokemon like Draco Meteor dragon-types or Close Combat Infernape, but so far this one is more badass  (for me!). Trick Room makes Spinda fast, Teeter Dance annoys and confuses opponents, Superpower + Contrary makes its stats inflate, and Drain Punch helps it regain HP.

And here’s an extra if you’re feeling particularly trollish:

Level 1 Cottonee

Cottonee @ Focus Sash

Ability: Prankster

EVs: whatever

Hasty Nature

– Substitute

– Leech Seed

– Encore

– Endeavour

Note: use like a Recycle Level 1 Magnemite.  Set up at least 5 Subs and regain health with Leech Seed! It’s a stall Pokemon that drives other trainers crazy.

So that’s all for today! I hoped you guys liked reading my post. Thanks for dropping by!

  1. Another Pokemon you can use is using a Slowking against an opponent that can kill it in three or more hits. Have it hold a Leppa berry, use Block and use Slack Off when on low HP. Use Recycle when you use your Leppa Berry. When the opponent starts struggling, use Heal Pulse to prolong their suffering
